Pre-Owned
Pre-owned devices are Pre-loved, used devices which are procured through trade in programs/buy backs of ex-lease units from verified suppliers.
Majority of our stock is Pre-owned and undergoes a testing procedure. Only fully functional devices are listed for sale. We use PhoneCheck testing software to test our devices which helps us to keep our device fault rate less than 1%.
Price Analysis: Pre-owned devices are generally priced higher than refurbished/renewed devices but almost up to 40% cheaper than the new ones.
Refurbished/Renewed
A Refurbished device is the one in which one or multiple components, for instance battery and/or screen has been replaced by a qualified technician. The component is replaced as it was either faulty or worn out beyond repair. All Refurbished devices sold at TechUp undergo a functional and cosmetic check and are in perfect working condition. If “Unknown Part” message appears in device’s settings, it suggests that device has been refurbished and the component is likely to have been replaced by a new one.
Price Analysis: A refurbished/ renewed device will be the least cost one in comparison to its other counterparts with the same specifications.
Open Box
Most of the open box items are equivalent to the brand new articles. As the name suggests, open box devices are products that are still in the original packaging. So, technically open box items cannot be termed as brand new but these are AS NEW fully functional devices with no cosmetic blemishes or sign of usage.
Price Analysis: These devices are cheaper than the New ones but more expensive than their refurbished or pre-owned partners of the same specifications.
New
A new devices comes straight from the factory. These are closed boxes with original packaging and accessories.
Price Analysis: Being straight out from the production line, this device will be the highest priced in the same category.
